The Federal Government has announced public holidays for the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, signalling the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the announcement in a statement on Tuesday.

In a statement issued by Dr Magdalene Ajani, Permanent Secretary in the ministry, the minister declared 19th March and Friday, 20th March 2026 as public holidays.
