Lagos tanker fire tragedy: Buhari sympathizes with victims, Ambode visits scene of explosion

President Buhari has sent out his condolence message to the victims of the petrol tanker explosion that occured on Otedola bridge in Lagos yesterday evening. 9 persons were burnt beyond recognition while 54 cars were burnt in the inferno. A condolence message posted on the presidential twitter handle reads

”President @MBuhari sympathizes with the Government and people of Lagos State, and the victims of the tanker fire incident at the #OtedolaBridge. May the souls of the dead rest in peace, and may God comfort all those who lost loved ones. The entire country mourns with you”.

Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has visited the scene of the tragic accident that happened along the Otedola axis of Lagos/Ibadan expressway.

Ambode wrote, ‘very sad day. The loss of lives in an accident like today is very painful. My prayers are with the everyone affected by this tragedy’.

The incident, which occurred at about 5pm, left scores of vehicles burnt while some lives were lost.
