Fast rising Nigerian singer @iam_kingbernard has taken to his Instagram handle to share screenshots of how he mistakenly sent N450,000 instead of N45,000 to one of his fans, who begged him for money to sort out school runs.

According to Bernard, the fan initially requested for the sum of N40,000 to sort out his admission process but the singer promised to send him N45,000 so he can use N5,000 to sort out any other personal issue.

Thinking the young man would refund the extra N400,000, Bernard tried reaching out to his fan on Instagram but he did not get a response. He added that the fan has also blocked him on Instagram.

His post reads: “This is so sad! Honestly a fan sent me DMs asking for help with some cash (u all know i often do giveaways on dis page, but asides that, i also get a lot of such DMs). I decided to help him bcos he’s a student and his university admission was at risk. But see what I got (swipe left to see conversations). He begged for me 45k, I mistakenly sent it with an extra zero, I sent N450k. He blocked me afterwards.. like seriously! whatdf! Some people will be like N450k seem like small money for an artiste.. but I’m not earning so much yet, like I’m not yet big like dem Starboy, Davido. I’m just sure someone out here knows him and can help reach him. his IG is @jamesogar1 If I even give dat extra 400k to other fans here like 10k each, that’s some smile on plenty faces 40 people, instead on just one selfish ingrate! I’ll really feel much better.”

Bernard further urged people not to blame Instablog9ja as he has begged them to take down the post. He added that James Ogar Ekpe’s account will be checked.

His post reads: “My people, let’s stop calling out Instablog pls.. I actually told them to take down the post, cos people were saying things like “it’s small money , just publicity stunt , and didnt he confirm amount before sending’ etc anyway, my guys just dey para for here ..we’ll check up his acct 1st tng tmrw.”

In a video, the singer disclosed that: “110k still left in James’ account.. I was surprised to find out he doesn’t have internet banking, else, d account for don empty.. i have to move on now, & allow bank fraud team continue the search.”
