Argentina are through to the last four of this year’s Copa America, after defeating Venezuela 2-0 on Friday.

Lautaro Martinez and Giovani Lo Celso netted for Lionel Scaloni’s side, as they marched into the semi-finals.

It represents a marked improvement in the course of the tournament for the 14-time winners.

Argentina were in disarray after opening the tournament with a 2-0 defeat to Colombia and 1-1 draw with Paraguay, that left them bottom of their pool and facing the possibility of an embarrassing early exit

But they saw off Qatar 2-0 and qualified for the quarter-final.

They will now take on hosts Brazil in a keenly anticipated affair.
