President Muhammadu Buhari has departed Abuja for Daura, his home town in Katsina, ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration scheduled for Sunday, 11th August.

Buhari left the presidential Villa at exactly 2-55pm shortly after observing the Jumat prayer at the Aso Rock mosque with members of his family.

The federal government also declared Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th as public holidays in order for Muslims to celebrate the festival.

Buhari is expected back in Abuja as soon as possible having scheduled a two days retreat and induction programme for the incoming ministers which he is expected to chair.
