The Federal High Court in Abuja docked the former Chairman of Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina who was brought to the court in a wheel chair to continue his trial over his alleged complicity in a N2billion fraud on Thursday.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that a bail application was filed by the defendant that he should be released pending the determination of the 12-count money laundering and Justice Okon Abang had fixed today to deliver the ruling as charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) filed against him.

It was gathered that  Maina is facing trial alongside a firm, Common Input Properties & Investment Limited, which the prosecution said was involved in the alleged fraud.

Maina was wheeled into the courtroom by officers of the Kuje Correctional Facility at about 9:30 am armed with two first aid boxes.

It will be recalled that the court had on Tuesday directed EFCC to move its counter-affidavit challenging the defendant’s bail request.
