Following the decision of some state governors to close down schools over Coronavirus outbreak, the First Lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari has argued that it is not enough to close down schools while parents still have to go to work, because those same parents will go home and infect their kids.

According to her tweet, “It is commendable that state governors have closed down schools; however, this could be counterproductive if parents are still going to work. We should not isolate students and expose their parents. Let us remember that they will meet at home.

While reacting to the tweet of the first lady, Nigerians stormed the Twitter page to question the first lady on plans the government has put in place to cater to citizens if they do not work to make money for their families.

@fribone wrote: “What plans have your husband rolled out to help those same parents you claim to care about? How would they feed their kids? Do they have running water? Do they have electricity to keep them comfortable? Look at what other countries are doing to help their people.”

@Alvin_IME wrote: “One question please, how do they stay at home when there is no electricity supply, how do they feee without working to gain wages because I know,I KNOW that the government can’t take care of everyone, let’s be truthful and realistic with ourselves.”

@Zayyanklg wrote: “Stay at home with no light and the weather is extremely hot!.”

@Soloawo wrote: “The Nigeria @NGRPresident  government should make available about $1billion to Nigerians through GEEP PROGRAM platform @geep_ng  They can call it COVID 19 bailout moni or whatever. It’s satanic to restrict people’s movement without access to food at home.”
