BREAKING: FG grants Amnesty to 2600 Prisoners

No fewer than 2600 inmates have been granted amnesty by the Federal Government on Thursday as part of measures to decongest prison facilities in the country amid the coronavirus pandemic.

This disclosure was made by the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola at an ongoing press conference at the headquarters of the Nigerian Correctional Service in Abuja.

The inmates, who are serving various terms for crimes against the society, would be processed and released later today.
