Nigerians have taken to social media platforms to react on the decision of Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje to relax the lcokdown in the state from 6am to 12pm for today Thursday April 23 to enable residents shop for Ramadan.

WITHIN NIGERIA had earlier reported that Kano State Government has relaxed the lockdown down order from 6am on Thursday to 12am on Friday to enable residents prepare adequately for the forthcoming Ramadan fast.

Recall that Kano state has 73 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and as at yesterday, April 22nd, testing was put on hold because the state had run out of testing kits. Recent cases of Covid-19 birthed the decision to lockdown the state to curb the viral disease.

While announcing the relaxation of the lockdown, the deputy governor of the state, Nasiru Gawuna said;

“In view of preparation for Ramadan period, the state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has relaxed the ongoing lockdown from 6am-12pm on Thursday to enable people buy necessary foodstuff and items needed for Ramadan period which is expected to commence on Friday,”
