The Rivers state government under the supervision of the Executive governor, Nyesom Wike, destroyed two hotels, Prodest Hotel at Eleme and Etemeteh Hotel situated at Onne on Sunday for violating the State’s lockdown order.

Wike who was gaining commendations for his strict approach towards enforcement of lockdown in the state is now facing backlashes from Nigerians for destroying people’s business and investment as a way of punishment for violating the state orders.

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has joined other Nigerians who has shown their displeasure towards the demolition of private properties in Rivers State. Sowore who refused to mince words described the action of the Governor as ‘madness’, the activist who feels ‘madness’ is also an understatement to describe Wike’s action shared his displeasure via his official Instagram account and wrote;

“GOV WIKE IS CORRUPT, TYRANNICAL, OUTRAGEOUSLY POWER DRUNK AND MAD!

” Describing @GovWike as mad is an understatement, the Rivers State chief executive see him self as an emperor because he’s gotten away with so many atrocities as gov, he must think at a point that nobody could possibly hold him to account.

“Someday though he will pay for his sins!
