No fewer than 193 Almajirai have tested positive for coronavirus in Kano, the State Government has announced.

The development has further fueled the controversy surrounding the ongoing reparations exercise.

Commissioner for Education, Sunusi Muhammad Kiru, while briefing the media on Thursday, said so far a total of 1,500 Almajiris have been evacuated from Kano to their states of origins while the state received 400.

He said the state has banned the traditional Qur’anic Schools and anybody who wants to operate it must have a dormitory for his Almajirai.

This contradicted the NCDC assertion that Nasarawa local government is amongst the local governments with a concentration of positive cases.

Hussain, who expressed worried over attitude some people in state whom, he said do not still believe that the diseases exist and refused to wear face masks.
