Against all odds, social media influencer, Adedamola Adewale, popularly called Adeherself, has been granted N500,000 bail by an Ikeja Special Offences Court over alleged fraud charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

In a ruling, Justice Sherifat Solebo also ordered that Adewale must provide two sureties with reliable means of income which would be verified by the court.

Recall that some days ago,  the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission begged court to deny  Adeherself bail.

At the beginning of the trial, Mr. Samuel Daji, the lead prosecuting counsel for the anti-graft agency, made the plea to court to deny Adewale’s bail hearing.

“I urge the court to refuse the bail of the defendant and order accelerated hearing,” Daji said.

This was after the defence counsel, Mr. Tunde Salami, applied to the court to grant bail on liberal terms to Adewale who had been remanded in EFCC’s custody since July 7.

And today she was finally granted bail.

Solebo adjourned the case until Aug 5 for substantive hearing.
