Court remands man 47, for beating pregnant wife to death in Ondo

A 47-year-old man identified as Olabode Oluwaseun has been remanded by an Akure Magistrate Court on Wednesday July 29 for beating his pregnant wife, Blessing to death.

According to a police prosecutor who testified in court, the sad incident occurred on April 3 in Akure, the capital of Ondo state.

The police prosecutor further revealed that a blow to the woman’s abdomen silenced her and her unborn baby.

Presiding over the case, Magistrate N. T Aladejana ordered that the suspect, Oluwaseun be remanded in police custody before adjourning the case till September 8.

In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that no fewer than 10 people allegedly responsible or participated in the burning down of Sotitobire Miracle Centre on Wednesday have been arrested by men of Ondo State Police Command.

WITHIN NIGERIA had earlier reported that tension in Ondo community as irate youths set ablaze Sotitobire Miracle Centre over the mysterious missing of one-year-old boy and viral news that the dead body of the boy was buried inside the church.

While reacting to the incident, the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Undie Adie confirmed the development and added that those arrested have been detained.
