The Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency has commenced the removal of unauthorised and debtors’ billboards across the state.

The Director-General of the Agency, Temilola Adibi, made the disclosure in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Monday, while addressing journalists at the State Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.

The DG stated that prior to this time, the agency had warned the advertising practitioners and other stakeholders in the state to regularise their unapproved billboards by making payment or forfeit it to the agency.

Adibi said OYSAA would clamp down on any advertising practitioners who fails to comply with the rules and regulations of the agency.

He said, “I want to admonish the advertising practitioners and other stakeholders in the state to fulfill their obligations to the state government by paying all outstanding debts and remit it to OYSAA office.

“Henceforth, no unauthorised billboard will be allowed to line our roads. They had better go through the right channel and pay to the appropriate authority.”

He noted that it would no longer be business as usual as the exercise would be continuous in a bid to boost the state’s Internally Generated Revenue.
