The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has embarked on a two-week warning strike, which started on Monday, October 13, 2025.

  • Here Is A List Of State Universities That Did Not Join The Ongoing ASUU Strike:
  • Public Universities Where CONUA Members Did Not Join Strike
  • List of Private Universities That Did Not Join The Strike

Recall that the union had earlier decried the failure of the Federal Government to fulfill its long-term demands, such as payment of withheld salaries, improved funding, implementation of the 2009 ASUU-FGN agreement, and review of IPPIS, among others.

Lecturers have abandoned classrooms, leading to the suspension of academic activities in most public universities following the directive of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

However, some public universities, mostly state-owned, did not join the strike action.

A check by WITHIN NIGERIA revealed that two academic unions in public universities, namely, the Congress of University Academics (CONUA) and the National Association of Medical and Dental Academics (NAMDA), did not participate in the strike action.

This implies that all academic staff who are members of these associations did not participate in the strike action.
