Pastor Nkechi Ene is dead. She died at the age of 56 after a sudden health crisis in Lagos. Ene, an electrical engineer turned pastor who chose The Carpenter’s Church as her foundation in Christ has taken the final now. She left this sinful world with preparedness to sit in the gentle bosom of Jesus Christ, her personal lord and saviour.

Many people have paid tributes to the courageous female preacher. I have read numerous tributes and they were not mere ones. It is delightful that all individuals who paid tribute to her focused on three things – love for God, character and purpose. Ene was a woman of God, character and purpose. They were not wrong. Only a woman of character and purpose could lead a national religious center to the global stage.

Ene was a responsible preacher of God’s words. Some people while passing commentary about her personality posited that she was a tireless preacher who wore the garment of character and godliness proudly. A critical look into Ene’s lifestyle shows that she had no scandal either minor or major. Her focus on God’s work was intimidating. She lived a life of service to God and humans.

The renowned Pastor who chose The Carpenter’s Church as her foundation in Christ, her personal lord and saviour has passed on. The Bible scholar and soldier of Christ has passed unto glory. The flesh has been defeated but the spirit remains in glory. She was a beautiful preacher of the word – Bible. She died while serving as a presiding pastor of a church that adopted the profession of Jesus’ earthly father, Joseph to coin its name.
