Nigerian Afropop star Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, professionally known as Kizz Daniel, has long been celebrated for his consistent string of hits. From his breakthrough single Woju to global sensations like Buga, Daniel has built a reputation for making music that connects deeply with listeners. Many fans even ask: Does Kizz Daniel have a single bad song?

Behind his chart-topping tracks is a disciplined approach to songwriting, careful attention to relatability, and a drive to turn life’s experiences into music that resonates.

Early Life and Musical Roots

Kizz Daniel

Kizz Daniel was born on May 1, 1994, in Abeokuta, Ogun State. He grew up in a creative household, as his father was a painter and art lecturer, exposing him to Nigerian culture and artistic expression early in life. These influences would later inform his music, blending traditional Nigerian sounds with modern Afropop.

Even while studying Water Resources Management and Agrometeorology at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, music remained central to his life. He balanced academics with honing his craft, a discipline that has continued to define his career.

Career Breakthrough and Growth

Kizz Daniel

Kizz Daniel’s professional music journey began in 2013 when he signed with G‑Worldwide Entertainment. His early singles, especially Woju, made him an instant star in Nigeria and beyond. In 2016, he parted ways with G‑Worldwide and established his own label, Flyboy I.N.C., giving him full creative control.

Albums like New Era, No Bad Songz, and King of Love solidified his reputation. His songs combined catchy melodies, storytelling, and a personal touch that made them memorable. The title of his 2018 album, No Bad Songz, was more than a statement; it reflected the discipline he brings to every project.

The ‘No Bad Song’ Philosophy

Kizz Daniel

Kizz Daniel’s music is not just about rhythm or chart performance. He focuses on making songs that people can relate to. He often says that music should connect emotionally, whether it’s about love, heartbreak, joy, or ambition. Each song is crafted with intention and thoughtfulness, which is why many believe he never releases a weak track.

It seems Kizz Daniel approaches every album strategically, thinking about themes, collaborations, and the story he wants to tell. This careful planning ensures that every project, whether it’s a party anthem or a reflective ballad, maintains his signature style and quality.

Marriage and Personal Life

In recent years, Kizz Daniel has also embraced family life. His marriage has influenced his music, providing both inspiration and grounding. Despite his busy career, he has acknowledged that family comes first, which recently led to a decision to take a break from music to spend more time with loved ones.

Latest Music and EPs

Kizz Daniel

In 2025, Kizz Daniel released his EP, Uncle K: Lemon Chase, a seven-track project featuring songs like Black Magic Girl, Titi, Secure, Al-Jannah, Peace I Chose, Eyo, and Police. According to the singer, the EP was born out of adversity when his workstation crashed and he lost much of the original album. In his own words:

“I was locked in the studio for months, but when life throws you lemons, you make lemonade out of it and that’s precisely what we did with this EP.”

The songs reflect his real-life experiences, from love and loss to celebration. Al-Jannah, for instance, is a tribute to loved ones he has lost, including his father, stepmother, and son, as well as his wife’s late mother. He explained:

“‘Al-Jannah’ means ‘paradise’, wanted to write a tribute song. We’ve lost people in the past; we lost our son in 2021; I lost my dad in 2015; my wite lost her mum in 2024; I lost my step-mum; we lost a whole lot of people.

“I wanted to make a song for everyone, not just one person. It’s about our loved ones we have lost in this journey of life. I accomplished that by using the word ‘friend’ in the song. When my dad was alive, he was my best friend.”

The EP also features collaborations with top artists such as Angelique Kidjo, Fola, Zlatan, Odumodublvck, Bella Shmurda, and Runtown. Tracks like Police, Al-Jannah, Titi, and Black Girl Magichave racked up millions of streams on Spotify and YouTube.

Additionally, he recently released the single To Be a Man, which continues his exploration of personal growth and maturity, resonating strongly with fans who have followed his journey from his early hits to now.

Career Triumphs and Legal Battles

Kizz Daniel

Kizz Daniel’s career has not been without challenges. After leaving G‑Worldwide, he engaged in a nine-year legal battle to regain ownership of his debut album, New Era (2016). In 2025, he announced via X that he had finally recovered all the rights to his early music, marking a major personal and professional victory.

This triumph reflects his persistence and dedication to his craft, showing that discipline extends beyond the studio to managing his career and artistic legacy.

Conclusion: The Discipline Behind the Hits

Kizz Daniel’s success is not accidental. His music reflects a combination of talent, careful planning, emotional honesty, and a commitment to connecting with listeners. From chart-topping hits to heartfelt EPs, his discipline and artistic vision make a strong case for the idea that Kizz Daniel truly has no bad songs. Even when life throws obstacles his way, he turns them into art, proving that behind every catchy melody is a thoughtful creator dedicated to his craft.
