Having clinched a ticket to the final, Arsenal’s attention will turn to the English Premier League, in which they are also in pole position to win for the first time in 22 years

Arsenal have booked a place in the final of the 2025/2026 season of the UEFA Champions League.

The English side qualified for the final after edging out Spanish giant, Atletico Madrid, in a tense, exhilarating and pulsating encounter at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.

Bukayo Saka’s goal in the first half after he tapped the ball into the net from close range was enough to earn the Gunners a place in the final for the first time in twenty years.

Saka’s goal also gives the Gunners a 2-1 aggregate win over Atletico Madrid after both teams played one all draw at Metropolitana last Wednesday.

Arsenal will be hoping to win the competition for the first time when they face the winner of the second semi-final tie between PSG and Bayern Munich in the final on 30 May in Budapest, Hungary.

With their place in the Champions League final all but guaranteed, Arsenal’s attention will turn to the English Premier League, in which they are also in pole position to win for the first time in 22 years. They play West Ham on Sunday at the London Stadium. The match could prove tricky for the Gunners as West Ham are battling to escape relegation but a win for the north London side would move them closer to winning a title that has become elusive for them in recent years.
