Fashion designer Veekee James & hubby welcome first child

Award-winning Nigerian fashion designer Victoria Ruth Erikan James, popularly known as Veekee James, and her husband, entrepreneur Femi Atere, have welcomed their first child, a baby girl.

The couple officially announced the birth via their verified social media platforms on Wednesday, 13 May 2026. According to the joint post shared by the couple, the child was born on May 2nd 2026 at 19:12. The newborn weighed 3.83 kg (8 lbs, 7.1 oz) at birth and measured 53.5 cm in length.

The Atere’s

The baby has been named Eliana Adeife Atere. The parents shared that the name Eliana means “My God has answered,” anchoring the birth to the biblical verse 1 Samuel 1:27. The announcement featured a video showing the couple and their daughter. The post was captioned:

The birth comes two years after the couple’s highly publicized February 2024 wedding. In February 2026, the couple first shared news of the pregnancy, noting they had tried to conceive for a year. The announcement has drawn widespread congratulations from high-profile industry figures, including media mogul Mo Abudu and actress Osas Ighodaro.
