The name Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, widely known as K1 De Ultimate or KWAM 1, has remained closely connected with Fuji music, cultural influence, fame and a public life that has often attracted attention beyond the stage. Over the years, his family life has generated conversations, with different stories emerging from time to time about relationships, children and personal claims involving the music icon.
The latest controversy has once again placed his private life under public attention, bringing fresh questions surrounding a young woman’s emotional account, a daughter’s search for recognition and previous discussions that have followed the Fuji legend for years.
The July 2026 controversy
The latest issue began gaining widespread attention in July 2026 after a woman identified as Ogechi appeared in a viral interview where she shared her account of an alleged relationship with KWAM 1. She introduced herself as someone who previously worked as his pedicurist before their relationship reportedly became personal. According to her account, the connection between them lasted for more than 7 years before events surrounding her pregnancy changed the direction of their relationship.
Ogechi alleged that she became pregnant during the period of their relationship and claimed that KWAM 1 encouraged her to terminate the pregnancy. She further alleged that arrangements were made through an associate for financial support towards the procedure, but according to her, the promised assistance never arrived. She said she eventually decided to continue with the pregnancy and raised the child without the public acknowledgement she expected from the musician.
Ogechi’s words;
“So when the girl was about a year plus, I now decided to go to Kabiru Agbabiaka, then he was still alive. We went to his palace and I narrated my story, he now called Wasiu on the phone.
“Wasiu now lied against me. But I also went to meet his mother during that period. And when his mother looked at the baby, she started shedding tears because of the girl’s resemblance to her.
“I dated Wasiu Ayinde Marshall for about seven years plus before I eventually took in for Azizat. Though by the time I told him about the pregnancy, he said he was not interested that I should abort it.
“He said he would send one of his boys to give me money for the abortion. I waited and waited but there was no response. I now went to Hossana Lab at the Century Bus Stop.”
The claims quickly moved beyond Ogechi’s personal account after she introduced the child involved in the controversy. The interview attracted attention because it was not presented only as a dispute between 2 adults but also as a story involving a young person seeking answers about her identity and relationship with a man she believes is her biological father.
Daughter’s emotional appeal
The teenager who appeared during the interview identified herself as Azizat Tiwalade Aduke Serena Ayinde Marshall. During the conversation, she claimed that KWAM 1 is her biological father and spoke about her reported attempts to establish a relationship with him.
She alleged that she had made efforts to meet the Fuji legend over the years, hoping for an opportunity to have a personal connection with him. She claimed that she visited him in Ijebu Ode in 2025 but was allegedly unable to achieve the meeting she wanted. Her account focused largely on the emotional impact of feeling unrecognised by someone she believes is her father.

The teenager also revealed that she expressed her feelings through music, saying she wrote a song inspired by her experience and the pain she associates with the situation. Her appearance added another emotional dimension to the controversy because the discussion moved from an allegation between former partners into a personal story involving family, identity and a search for acceptance.
Azizat said ;
“Hello everyone, my name is Azizat, Tiwalade, Aduke, Serena Ayinde Marshall. I’m the daughter of K1 De Ultimate and also the daughter of Ogechi Amaozu. I heard that my father is a billionaire, if not a trillionaire. I heard he has money but I’m not feeling like it. Please help me, I’m tired. He denied me after that last time 30th of July 2025 that we left Ijebu Ode. He said he doesn’t know us. I decided to write a song that one day if I make it, I will sing out this song and the whole world will listen to the song.”
Public attention surrounding claims
Following the release of the interview, the story spread rapidly across Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram pages and entertainment blogs. The speed of the reaction showed the level of public interest that often follows stories involving popular figures, especially when family matters become part of public discussion.
Many online conversations focused on the teenager’s resemblance to KWAM 1, with some people pointing to facial similarities as a possible indication of a biological connection. Others argued that physical appearance cannot establish paternity because family resemblance can occur in different ways without proving a direct biological relationship.
The central issue remains that allegations of paternity require evidence beyond public opinion. A DNA test or a legal process would provide a recognised method of establishing biological connection, while online discussions alone cannot confirm or dismiss such claims.
KWAM 1’s reported response status
As of the latest publicly available reports on the matter, KWAM 1 has not released a verified public statement directly responding to Ogechi’s specific allegations. The absence of a public response has left the claims circulating mainly through interviews, social media discussions and entertainment reports.
Without an official response, DNA result or court decision, the allegations remain claims made by Ogechi and her daughter. The available information does not establish the paternity claim as a confirmed fact, but it has created another public conversation around the personal life of one of Nigeria’s most recognised Fuji musicians.
Previous paternity discussions
Although social media discussions sometimes suggest that KWAM 1 has faced numerous paternity disputes, publicly documented cases from credible reports are more limited. The most frequently referenced earlier controversy involved Nollywood actress Bisola Badmus, who claimed that the musician fathered her child.
The Bisola matter gained attention mainly through online interviews, blogs and social media discussions. The issue generated public conversations about whether a DNA test should be conducted to determine the truth behind the claim.
However, there was no publicly released DNA result confirming the allegation, no widely reported court judgment establishing the claim and KWAM 1 was reportedly seen, meeting with Bisola Badmus’ son, hinting at confirmation of the paternity issue.

Much of the discussion remained within the space of allegations, interviews and online debate rather than a legally established conclusion.
The 2016 DNA interview
One of KWAM 1’s most repeated comments on family matters came during interviews around his 60th birthday celebration in 2016. During that period, he reportedly stated that he had no plans to conduct DNA tests on his children because he accepted them as his own and trusted the mothers who gave birth to them.
That statement has continued to attract attention whenever new paternity related discussions involving the musician emerge. His position reflected his personal view on fatherhood, trust and family responsibility, although it did not directly address future allegations involving children whose paternity may be disputed.
The 2016 comment has frequently resurfaced online because it represents one of the few publicly available statements from KWAM 1 regarding the wider issue of DNA testing and questions surrounding his children.
KWAM 1’s family life
KWAM 1 has publicly acknowledged having many children from different relationships throughout his life. Over several years, different interviews have mentioned varying numbers as his family continued to grow, making it difficult to determine an official current figure from publicly available records.
His position as a celebrated entertainer has placed many aspects of his personal life under public observation. However, having a large family does not automatically mean every claim connected to his children represents a confirmed controversy.
The latest allegations have brought renewed attention because they involve a person claiming to be a daughter seeking recognition, rather than simply a discussion about the musician’s large family structure.
Separating claims from confirmed facts
The Ogechi controversy contains several claims that have attracted public interest, including the alleged past relationship, the pregnancy story, the reported refusal of acknowledgement and the daughter’s appeal for acceptance. These claims have been publicly presented through interviews, but they have not been independently confirmed through legal findings or scientific evidence.
At the same time, the existence of an allegation does not automatically prove that it is false. The proper way to establish paternity remains through recognised evidence such as DNA testing or legal procedures that allow both sides to present their positions.
The current situation therefore remains centred on a serious personal claim that has generated public discussion but has not reached a confirmed conclusion.
A renewed conversation about responsibility
The latest controversy has also reopened broader conversations about celebrity, family responsibility and the challenges that can arise when private relationships become public matters. For personalities with long careers and significant public influence, personal allegations often receive attention because fans and observers are interested in both their professional achievements and private lives.
For Ogechi and her daughter, the issue appears to be centred around recognition, identity and a desire for acknowledgement. For KWAM 1, the matter involves a serious allegation that remains unresolved in the public space.
As discussions continue, the key facts remain that Ogechi has made allegations, her daughter has publicly identified herself with those claims, no DNA evidence has been released, no court ruling has been reported and KWAM 1 has not publicly responded to the specific accusations.
The controversy adds another chapter to the long public interest surrounding the life of KWAM 1, but the final determination of the paternity claim depends on evidence rather than speculation.
