The Federal Government has announced free business name registration for entrepreneurs and small businesses.
The initiative, which is part of President Bola Tinubu’s government effort to support and drive the growth of small and medium enterprises, will see up to 250,000 businesses register for free.
The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), the agency responsible for registering businesses and monitoring their activities, announced the initiative on Sunday in a statement posted on its social media platform.
The statement reads, “This is to remind the general public that the Federal Government, under the leadership of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has approved 250,000 FREE Business Names Registration to support and stimulate the growth and development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria.”
CAC said business owners do not have to make any payment to benefit from the scheme, warning them against fraudulent characters who may want to defraud them.
“The Corporate Affairs Commission will NOT request payment for this registration. Beware of fraudsters! Do not pay anyone claiming to fast-track your registration,” the agency said
