President Bola Tinubu will visit only twelve of the country’s 36 states for political campaigning, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has disclosed.
The itinerary of the president was contained in the party’s proposed campaign timetable for the 2027 general elections, covering all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT.
According to the schedule, the nationwide campaign will commence in Kaduna on October 24, 2026, and end with a grand finale in Lagos on January 9, 2027.
Recall that Tinubu, during the inauguration of the APC presidential campaign council on Wednesday, had said he would not go everywhere with the members of the council for political rallies and campaigns, as he needed to focus on governance and the economy.
His decision not to campaign in some states drew mixed reactions. While some say Tinubu is skipping some states because he lacks the physical strength and mental fortitude to withstand the gruelling schedules and rigorous demands of presidential campaigns, others see his absence as a political and electioneering strategy.
The timetable revealed the 12 key states where the President is expected to personally lead the party’s presidential rallies across the six geopolitical zones.
