Addressing the development, Dele said,

“Yes, Davido is my cousin, and he is supporting our uncle. One of the beautiful aspects of our family is that our family’s patriarch, late Senator Raji Adeleke, laid the foundation of a democratic family. He was never autocratic.

He was a devout Muslim, but he married a Christian woman. However, he never forced his children into any religion or political party. The freedom to choose is enshrined in our family. We recognize and respect that freedom.”

Dele Adeleke is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
