Yeni Kuti, the daughter of Afrobeats legend, Fela Kuti, has shared the story of a cleric who once worked with her late father.
During a popular show she co-hosts on Television Continental ‘Your Views’, she weighed in on the issue of fraudulent Pastors in the country.
Yeni gave a damning verdict about a pastor by revealing he was a drunkard who was not ashamed of drinking himself to stupor.
She cited an instance where she encountered the cleric reeking with alcohol when he was still with her late father, which gave her a whole perception about most of the so-called Men of God behind the pulpit claiming they are winning souls for Christ.
Yeni Kuti also claimed the pastor was dishonest and used his deceitful tactics on Fela Kuti.
Her words;
“A Pastor worked with my father, and his father-in-law owned a church in Benin. However, he left the Church and came to my father, Fela. While he was with my father, the pastor told us of how he often drank alcoholic drinks before mounting the pulpit.
He also told us that people believed in him even when he ministered while under the influence of alcohol. He also used his deceitful tactics on my father, and was dishonest. He eventually went back to the Church when my father did not pay him.”
