The Big Brother Naija Shine Ya Eye Reunion premiered on a high note on June 2, 2022, and viewers can’t get enough of seeing their ex favourites housemates over the TV screen again.

The Day 1 began mostly with introduction of the reunion show and the former housemates. The ex-housemates attended the premiere except Niyi.

Here are the remarkable moments from the opening show.

Niyi’s absence

Big Brother Naija host, Ebuka revealed that Niyi was absent from the opening show because he was healing from a medical issue.

According to Ebuka, Niyi’s presence would have been very appreciated since he didn’t stay long on the show.

Niyi, Yerins, and Beatrice were the first housemates to be evicted from the show after two weeks.

Boma’s motive

Reality Star, Boma kept fans hungry for drama as he told Ebuka that he came to the reunion with a motive.

When questioned about what the motive was, Boma noted that it will unfold as the show continues.

Also, During the show, Boma caused a lot of controversies due to his relationship with the only married woman on the show, Tega Dominic.

Controversy after Michael’s exit

As expected, Ebuka touched on the controversy which trailed Michael’s exit from the show.

During Michael’s moment on the show, he was in a ‘ship’ with Jackie B and shortly after his six-week stay, Whitemoney jumped in to take his position.

In response, Michael said, “I wasn’t shocked. He (Whitemoney) has good taste. It was good to watch. I believe everything worked out the way it was supposed to.”

The Reality star added that he wasn’t offended by Whitemoney’s move.

Peace opens up on social media break

Peace addressed her noticeable absence from social media shortly after the show ended in October 2021.

She noted that she took a break from social media because she needed to strategise and make plans.

Peace said, “I just needed a break. You know how this thing can be sometimes. I needed to take some time. I needed a break. I needed to strategise.”

The reunion, which kicked off on a happy note on Thursday, would air for the next few days, with ex-housemates spilling the ‘tea’ and entertaining fans.
