Nigerian artiste and songwriter, Oluwafemi Oladapo, professionally known as Slimcase, has reacted after organisers of Headies Awards disqualified singer, Habeeb ”Portable” Okikiola, from its 15th edition.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the organisers disclosed that the ‘Zazuu Crooner’ was disqualified for being the subject of an investigation relating to criminal activities, and for issuing threat to his co-nominees.
He was nominated in the ‘Best Street Artist’ and ‘Rookie of the Year categories.
According to organisers, his disqualification is aimed at passing a strong message that it does not condone reckless and uncouth statements.
In reaction to the news, Slimcase commented on Blogger Tunde Ednut’s Instagram post about Headies and Portable saga, expressing his disappointment with the organisers over their strict decision.
He wrote;
“U no show love ooo”
