  • Singer Burnaboy, renowned for his intimate rapport with colleague, Wizkid, offered up a profoundly poignant tribute to his mother at a lively US Concert, whose demise cast a somber veil on the 18th of August, 2023.
  • In the video making the rounds, the music star underscored that the sorrow of losing one’s mother embodies a distinct anguish of its own, and he cannot fathom experiencing such a loss.

The enigmatic exit of Mrs Jane Balogun, the very mother of Wizkid, has stirred a cauldron of emotions, leaving fans and Celebrities in a state of disquiet just a few days after the unfortunate occurrence.

In a recent video, Burna Boy, a fellow music artist and bosom buddy of Wizkid, momentarily halted his electrifying performance on stage at the Afronation Fest in Detroit, United States, to honor the memory of the dearly departed Mrs. Balogun.

Burna Boy proceeded to eloquently express his deep empathy and understanding for the profound anguish that Big Wiz is currently grappling with.

He passionately conveyed that the mere thought of bidding farewell to his cherished mother is an idea he himself cannot even begin to wrap his head around.

With an authoritative aura, he directed the crowd to partake in a solemn moment of silence, honoring the memory of Wizkid’s dear departed mother.

And then, with the finesse of a true artist, he seamlessly transitioned into serenading the crowd with a line from his collaborative song with Wizkid, ‘Ginger.’

Since her death was announced, celebrities and public figures have flooded the social media space with condolence messages to singer, Wizkid and his family.

The Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, wrote: “On behalf of the OBIdient family, I sincerely commiserate with Mr Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, (Wizkid), who reportedly lost his beloved mother. The death of a loved one is a very painful experience, more so a beloved mother.”

In his condolence message shared on Twitter, Davido said: “Praying for you my brother @wizkidayo. Sadness flies away on the wings of time.”

On his part, rapper and music executive, Olamide wrote: “Prayers up for wiz “
