- Kunle Afod and Pa Ajirebi brought a ray of sunshine to the virtual world with their recent visit to senior colleague, Baba Agbako, ignited a passionate outpouring of admiration.
- Afod not only crowned the venerable actor as the “oldest and agile thespian on the global stage” but also showered him with praise for his outstanding feats in Nollywood.
Kunle Afod, the well-known Nigerian actor, and the seasoned Kayode Olasehinde, affectionately known as Pa James or Ajirebi, decided to take a breather from their hectic routines to pop by and tip their hats to the grand old man of their craft, Abdulsalam Sanyaolu, better known as ‘Agbako.
Agbako, who recently hit the century milestone, age 100, was as happy as a clam to lay eyes on them. They all pulled up chairs for a good old heart-to-heart, and a whole parade of well-wishers who came along joined in for the visit.
Afod, in a video he posted on his Instagram page, made it crystal clear to Agbako that paying a visit was non-negotiable. He needed those 100-year-old blessings since he’s gearing up for the big 50th birthday himself, and in a jesting tone, he humorously claimed to be “half of Baba Agbako.”
Baba Agbako firmly stated that he’s thankful for a long life but is prepared to die whenever the Almighty decides. Afod and Pa Ajirebi, in a cheeky rebuttal, insisted he’s destined to outlive 100 years and won’t be parting ways with them anytime soon.
Amid peals of laughter, Afod and Pa Ajirebi reminisced about Baba’s age-defying grand grammatical lines in movies.
Baba Agbako poured out his heartfelt blessings, prayed for them to thrive and flourish in the world of cinema.
In the video, Kunle Afod wasted no time in acknowledging a well-known truth about Agbako, affirming that he’s the “oldest and agile” actor in the world.
He went on to highlight that the centenarian Thespian recently graced a movie set, taking on a role in an upcoming film.
