MultiChoice Nigeria has dropped a bombshell ahead of the 2024 edition of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija), announcing a staggering N100 million as the grand prize for the reality TV show.

In a viral video sweeping across social media, Busola Tejumola, the executive head of content and West Africa channels at MultiChoice, unveiled juicy details, including the show’s premiere set for Sunday, July 28.

Tejumola emphasized that the premiere will dominate screens across all Africa Magic channels starting at 7 pm WAT.

But here’s the twist: the coveted N100 million jackpot, along with a sleek new SUV, awaits the show’s ultimate victor after 71 days of electrifying drama. Interestingly, this figure marks a significant N20 million drop from the previous year’s prize.

Tejumola said;

“After 71 days of game playing, on the 6th of October, 2024, a grand total of N100 million worth of cash and a brand new SUV will be won,” 

“Our grand prize this year is worth N10o million.”

Recall, in October 2023, Ilebaye Odiniya clinched the crown and a whopping N120 million in the all-stars (8th) season, setting a high bar for future contestants to surpass.

The anticipation for the ninth season of Big Brother Naija is reaching fever pitch, with auditions that kicked off on March 27 and wrapped up on May 4.

This year’s edition promises to be an explosive cocktail of drama, romance, and fierce rivalry, according to the show’s organizers.
