Nollywood actress and political dynamo Hilda Dokubo has reportedly been suspended from her role as a member of the Labour Party (LP) at her ward in Asari Toru Local Government Area (LGA) of Rivers State.

Hilda Dokubo, who had been serving as the influential chairperson of the LP in Rivers, now finds herself embroiled in a scandal of epic proportions.

According to the Peoples Gazette, she stands accused of a litany of serious charges, including financial misconduct, abuse of office, and a blatant breach of party regulations, among a host of other allegations.

Dokubo was suspended on July 15 after an emergency meeting of the party’s ward executive committee and ratified by the Asari Toru LGA executives of LP on July 18.

The suspension was communicated through a damning letter addressed to the LP chairman of Asari Toru LGA. The letter, which reads like a litany of political woes, was reportedly signed by an array of ward executives: the ward chairman Ajalamonia Ibama, secretary Lole Amacheer, and treasurer Emmanuel Ibamathe.

Adding further weight to the accusations, the women leader Osaki Dieypiriye and the publicity secretary Osaki Dokubo also lent their signatures to the explosive document.

The ward executives, in a display of their resolve, claimed they had conducted a meticulous and exhaustive investigation into the allegations against Dokubo before arriving at their decision to suspend her.

In their fervent declaration, the party officials underscored their unwavering commitment to maintaining the integrity and high ethical standards of the Labour Party. They stressed that no one, regardless of their stature, is above the law or the party’s stringent regulations.
