The controversy surrounding Adetshina’s participation in the South African beauty pageant led to significant uproar, with many critics voicing their discontent about her being a finalist due to her Nigerian roots.

The situation escalated to the point where Adetshina decided to step down from the competition, citing the negative attention as a reason for her withdrawal.
