“But your son is gay” – Accusations trail Peter Obi’s comment on Bobrisky in new video

This layered controversy has brought Obi’s public and private lives into sharp relief, with many asking if the politician’s ideals truly align with the realities around him, or if his stance on Bobrisky is a deflection from his family’s own entanglements with societal norms.

“But your son is gay” – Accusations trail Peter Obi’s comment on Bobrisky in new video
  • Peter Obi, famed for his unwavering passion and vision for Nigeria, recently stirred up discussions with his remarks on the ongoing Bobrisky controversy.
  • His comments, however, sparked a fresh wave of accusations directed at his own family, with some critics pointing fingers at Obi’s son, referencing his appearances in LGBTQ-focused magazines.
  • These detractors argue that the Anambra politician has little room to criticize Bobrisky when, in their view, his son’s actions place him in a similar spotlight.

Peter Obi, Labour Party’s 2023 presidential hopeful and a figure synonymous with calls for national reform, has sent shockwaves across Nigeria with his recent, unfiltered comments on the growing influence of crossdressing sensation Bobrisky.

Joining Nedu Wazobia on the Honest Bunch podcast, Obi weighed in on Bobrisky’s explosive clashes with Verydarkman, the Falanas, EFCC, and the Nigerian Correctional Service—issues that have sparked controversy and public outrage.

But instead of fueling the flames, Obi’s perspective cut deeper, addressing what he believes is a profound national distraction.

Obi questioned why so much national energy is spent fixating on a crossdresser’s lifestyle while countless pressing issues continue to cripple the nation.

He made a pointed remark that if the government ever enforced laws favoring women over men, those currently condemning Bobrisky might ironically be among the first to join him in crossdressing, simply as a means of survival—a comment that had everyone in the studio bursting into laughter.

Yet, Obi’s remarks, while entertaining, set off a fierce wave of backlash. Some agreed with his criticism of misplaced priorities, believing his statement highlights the absurdity of focusing on trivial issues.

However, others were not so amused. Critics swiftly dragged Obi into a personal scandal, accusing him of hypocrisy by bringing up his son Oseloka’s alleged involvement in the LGBTQ community.

These accusations aren’t without a past. Earlier this year, in January 2024, Oseloka Obi became the subject of intense online speculation after social media users uncovered his pro-LGBTQ activities.

Images surfaced showing Oseloka posing confidently with a magazine known for its LGBTQ advocacy, while other photos depicted him in an intimate embrace with another man.
