Fresh beef suspected as Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham avoid interaction at Femi Adebayo’s film premiere-VIDEO

Many can’t help but wonder: Is this just professional competition spilling into public spaces, or was this moment of distance purely coincidental? or is there more to the story than meets the eye?..

Fresh beef suspected as Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham avoid interaction at Femi Adebayo’s film premiere-VIDEO
  • Just days after the buzz of premiere of her new movie, Everybody Loves Jenifa, Funke Akindele stepped out in style at the star-studded premiere of Femi Adebayo’s latest blockbuster.
  • Toyin Abraham, another Nollywood powerhouse, who is gearing up for the premiere of her own highly anticipated movie with a release date in the same month as Funke’s, also made an appearance at the event.
  • The two stars, despite sharing the same space, in viral clip, appeared to consciously avoid each other, raising eyebrows and fueling speculation.
  • Their non-interaction has left fans questioning whether a quiet feud or an unspoken rivalry is brewing again between the two queens of the silver screen.

A viral clip capturing the frosty moment between two Nollywood heavyweights, Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham, has once again ignited whispers of a silent feud brewing between the celebrated actresses.

The video, now making rounds on social media, shows the duo avoiding any form of interaction, sparking debates about whether the peace they seemingly made in recent years has dissolved into renewed tension.

It wasn’t too long ago that rumors of rivalry between these top female filmmakers dominated Nollywood gossip. The speculation reached a boiling point when Toyin Abraham, in an unexpected move, publicly addressed the claims of competition between them.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls Toyin admitting to past misunderstandings and extending an olive branch to Funke Akindele. Their public reconciliation appeared genuine, and subsequent videos of them exchanging warm pleasantries at events seemed to bury the hatchet once and for all.

However, the recent video tells a different story, a scene that has left fans dissecting every detail. The clip was taken during the star-studded premiere of Seven Doors, the latest cinematic masterpiece by Femi Adebayo Salami, one of Nollywood’s most celebrated actors.

Funke, known for her commanding presence, walked into the event and exchanged greetings with several colleagues who warmly acknowledged her. As she made her way through the crowd, all eyes were on her as she approached the section where Toyin Abraham was seated.

In a moment that felt almost choreographed, Toyin, noticing Funke’s arrival, turned her face away as if to avoid eye contact. Funke, maintaining her composure, walked past Toyin without so much as a glance.

The frosty interaction, or lack thereof, was caught on camera, and fans wasted no time analyzing the moment. Many speculated and debated whether the duo, both set to release highly anticipated movies this December, have reignited their rivalry.

Funke’s Everybody Loves Jenifa, a glitzy continuation of her beloved franchise, is set to hit cinemas on December 13, the same day as another speculated competitor Mercy Aigbe’s drama Thin Line.

Toyin’s comedy-drama Alakada Bad and Boujee follows closely on December 20.
