We are not investigating Verydarkman’s stolen NGO millions – FCT Police
  • Verydarkman recently caused a media storm after revealing that his highly anticipated NGO had been hit by a devastating cyberattack.
  • The scale of the breach, coupled with the massive financial loss, seemed like a clear case for law enforcement intervention.
  • Given the high-profile nature of the attack, many quickly assumed that the Abuja police, where Verydarkman is based, would take immediate and forceful action to investigate the crime.
  • In a surprising turn of events, the Abuja Police Command issued an official statement that sent shockwaves through the public

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has distanced itself from the swirling controversy surrounding the alleged disappearance of ₦160 million from the account of a Non-Governmental Organisation owned by popular social media commentator Martins Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan.

The case, which has captured public attention and ignited heated debates, took another twist as law enforcement made it clear they are neither aware of nor investigating the matter.

In a dramatic Instagram video posted on Friday, Otse alleged that a staggering ₦160 million had been transferred from the NGO’s account to an unknown beneficiary. He further claimed to have recovered ₦20 million after freezing the siphoning account using a Post No Debit (PND) order.

While his saga drew immediate sympathy from some followers, it also unleashed a wave of scepticism, with critics questioning the authenticity of his narrative and the timing of his revelations.

The plot thickened on Saturday when Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, clarified that the police had no involvement in the matter, said the command was neither aware of nor investigating the case.

Adeh stated;

“The FCT Police Command is not aware of any case involving VDM’s missing funds and is not conducting any investigation into it.

“The individual in question should be contacted to clarify where the matter was reported, as there is no record of such a case with the FCT Police Command.”
