You’re yet to release Speed Darlington as promised – Cubana Chiefpriest mocked at Anambra funeral (VIDEO)

You’re yet to release Speed Darlington as promised – Cubana Chiefpriest mocked at Anambra funeral (VIDEO)
  • At a lively burial ceremony in Anambra, Cubana Chiefpriest found himself caught in a moment of fun, only to be jolted back to reality when he was reminded of a promise he made — a promise to release Speed Darlington.
  • The socialite, currently embroiled in a bitter and very public feud with Burna Boy, had vowed to free Darlington from behind bars, where the rapper remains locked up.

Celebrity barman, Cubana Chiefpriest, born Pascal Chibuike Okechukwu, found himself publicly dragged as his unfulfilled promise to release the incarcerated rapper Speed Darlington became the talk of the town.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls reporting on the tensions brewing between Chiefpriest and Burna Boy, followed by Burna Boy’s unexpected public support for Chiefpriest’s alleged brother and baby mama.

In a sharp response to the growing feud, Chiefpriest promised that he would use every resource at his disposal to free Speed Darlington. He confidently proclaimed that no one, not even Burna Boy, could stand in his way.

But as the hours turned into days, Darlington remained locked up, and Chiefpriest’s promise began to ring hollow.

Just recently, Cubana Chiefpriest attended a lavish burial ceremony in Anambra, celebrating the life of the late mother of Cletus Uzoezie Oragwa, a well-known Nigerian entrepreneur and business magnate popularly known as Zenco.

As the socialite enjoyed the festivities, surrounded by celebrities and the crème de la crème of Nigerian society, an unexpected disruption came from an attendee, who loudly reminded Chiefpriest of his unfulfilled promise regarding Darlington’s release.

This development follows the announcement from activist Deji Adeyanju and his partners, who have committed to standing by Darlington, ready to fulfill the bail conditions on his behalf.

In a formal letter dated January 8, 2025, the law firm representing Darlington conveyed their intentions to the Deputy Inspector General of Police at the Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB), DIG Galadanchi.

The letter outlined their plan to present a surety at the FIB to meet the necessary conditions for Darlington’s bail, a move that could finally see the rapper freed after weeks of detention.
