Veteran Nigerian actor John Amaefule is in a life-threatening situation after suffering a severe stroke.

Currently battling for his life at the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Owerri, the ailing actor is under intensive medical care as his family scrambles to cover mounting treatment costs.

In a heartfelt social media post, Nollywood producer Stanley Ontop revealed the family’s desperate plea for financial assistance from kind-hearted Nigerians and Amaefule’s colleagues in the entertainment industry.

According to Stanley, the doctor disclosed that the stroke had damaged the left side of Amaefule’s brain, contributed to severe weakness on the right side of his body, alongside other concerning health issues.

The news has sparked a wave of reactions online, with many expressing disbelief and sorrow over Amaefule’s condition.

Stanley Ontop captioned in parts;

“This message is from the doctor… He has a stroke in the left side of his brain, Which is likely causing right-sided weakness, They need to do a Lipid panel test, Hemoglobin Alc test, Electrolyte urea and creatinine test for him…

“Then he needs to be on medications for Cholesterol – atorvastatin. Blood pressure – may be losartan or hydrochlorothiazide if he’s not already on one and if he has diabetes or not. He should be on aspirin and clopidogrel.”
