Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has issued a public apology to fellow actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie and politician Senator Ned Nwoko following weeks of intense backlash and online drama.
The actress, known for her outspoken personality, shared a reflective statement via Instagram, expressing deep regret over her past comments — but conspicuously left out Regina Daniels, the wife of Nwoko and one of the main figures she previously targeted.
In her statement, Angela acknowledged that her actions were fueled by emotions and pain but admitted that her words caused unnecessary harm, particularly to Mercy Johnson, with whom she has had a longstanding rift.
“It’s no secret that Mercy Johnson and I have had some difficult issues circulating on social media,” Angela wrote.
“I feel so sorry having realized how this gets to you, Mercy. Your mental health is very important now and ever. I wouldn’t wish you and your family worse.”
The apology follows months of friction, during which Angela accused Mercy Johnson of being fake, toxic, and manipulative. At the height of the feud, Angela also insulted Mercy’s husband and engaged Regina Daniels, mocked her marriage to Ned Nwoko and accusing her of meddling.
Angela, however, extended a separate apology to Ned Nwoko, stated that her angry reaction toward him stemmed from being unfairly attacked online.
“My sincere apology also goes to Senator Ned Nwoko,” she wrote. “It was a reaction to an unprovoked bashing and attack that was blown out of proportion. I truly reacted in a way I now recognise wasn’t pleasant.”
Angela’s decision to leave out Regina Daniels — who was directly involved in the original controversy — has raised eyebrows. Fans believe the snub may indicate that the rift between the two remains unresolved.
Her post has drawn mixed reactions on social media, with some praising her maturity for apologizing, while others question her motives, especially given the omission of Regina’s name.
