“My hubby wants to kpai me, I don’t want the marriage again” — Actress Evan Okoro cries out (VIDEO)

Evan Okoro and hubby

Nollywood actress Evan Okoro has sparked widespread concern and online reactions after releasing a distressing video in which she alleged that her husband, identified as Prince Chibuzor Nwachimelueze, wants to kill her.

The actress, who got married to Chibuzor a few months ago, took to social media to publicly express her fears, claiming her life is no longer safe due to unresolved issues in their union.

Evan Okoro disclosed that she has formally petitioned the police over the matter, indicating that she has taken legal steps to protect herself. She further emphasized that she is no longer interested in continuing with the marriage.

In the same video, Evan revealed a controversial detail that further fueled public debate — stating that although they had a marriage ceremony, her bride price was never paid.

The emotional video, shared by colleague, Stanley Ontop, which quickly spread across Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and TikTok, triggered shock and concern from fans and the wider online community.

Many social media users expressed alarm over the severity of the situation, especially considering the rising number of public figures opening up about abuse and toxic relationships.

Some believe it’s a prank as they question the legal weight of a marriage without bride price under customary law. Her courage to speak out has been applauded by others.

Her shocking revelation comes barely four months after she and Chibuzor tied the knot in a colorful traditional wedding ceremony. Held on April 13, the event was attended by family and close friends, who danced joyfully in matching Igbo “Isiagu” outfits.

Photos from their wedding shoot captured the couple in elegant black and grey lace attire adorned with traditional beads. The actress held a customized bridal fan bearing the words “LOLO NWACHIMELUEZE,” while proudly posing with her husband. A video caption from the event introduced her as “Mrs. Chibuzor,” with another declaring she was officially out of the singles pool.
