UPDATE: Niger state official: Abducted Kagara students yet to be released

A Niger Government official identified as Mary Nobel Berji has clarified that 42 people including students, staff and relatives abducted by bandits in Government Science College, Kagara were yet to be released on Sunday night.

This development is coming after WITHIN NIGERIA published the story of the release of students and teachers on Sunday night which was prompted by the information released to media houses at about 10:30 pm by the Chief Press Secretary to the Niger governor, Mary Noel-Berje.

In a new tweet shared by Mary Noel Berji, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor disclosed that those released were not the students but other kidnapped victims.

Those released are the NSTA  bus abductees and they have just arrived government house, while efforts are being intensified to get the kagara students released.”
