Nigeria records 214 new COVID-19 cases, total hits 162076

As the battle against COVID-19 continues, 214 new cases of the deadly virus have been recorded in 11 states and the federal capital territory, Abuja.

This disclosure was made by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control in its daily update on Tuesday March 23.

According to NCDC, Adamawa state has the highest number of positive confirmed COVID-19 cases.

Other states breakdown are; Lagos-33, Bauchi-26, Kaduna-9, Rivers-9, FCT-7, Oyo-7, Gombe-5, Ebonyi-4, Osun-3, Ekiti-1, Ogun-1.

There are now 162,076 confirmed cases of Coronavirus in the country and 2,031 deaths have been recorded. 148,530 patients who recovered from the disease have also been discharged.

In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 has disclosed no fewer than 122,410 Nigerians have been vaccinated with AstraZeneca since launch of the exercise on March 5, 2021.

It further stated none of those who received their first shot has been down with severe adverse reactions aside from mild pain at the site of vaccination and fever.
