Nigerians Youths under the auspices of “Youths Earnestly Demand For Goodluck Jonathan 2023″ (YED 4 GEJ 2023) has asked immediate president of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to contest for the position of the President of Nigeria in the 2023 presidential election.

YED 4 GEJ 2023 gave the endorsement in a statement signed by its National Chairman, Prince Teddy Omiloli and obtained by WITHIN NIGERIA on Monday.

The group begged Jonathan to come back in 2023 to continue with the ‘trailblazing milestones’ he initiated in his first tenure as President of Nigeria.

The group also condemned the recent attacks in South East by unknown gunmen especially the attack on Police headquarters, correctional center facilities in Imo state, and the attack on the Nigerian army personnel in Benue state, describing it as an act of terrorism.

The statement read in part: “ We the Nigerian youths under the auspices of “Youths Earnestly Demand For Goodluck Jonathan 2023” (YED 4 GEJ 2023) call on our greatly esteemed President to come back in 2023 to continue with the trailblazing milestones he initiated in his first tenure as President of our great country Nigeria.

“It is no longer hidden that the country needs reforms and transformation. And this can only come at this time from one of the most patriotic and visionary leaders this great nation has ever had.

“We also condemned the recent attacks in South East by unknown gunmen especially the attack on Police headquarters, correctional center facilities in Imo state, and the attack on the Nigerian army personnel in Benue state. These attacks are an act of terrorism and should be discouraged in totality.

The youths while sympathizing with the Nigerian army, the people of South East, the government, and people of Imo state, over the attacks, also called on all Nigerians to join hands with the security operatives, state governments, and the Federal government in the fight against terrorism and insecurity in Nigeria.

The group noted that Nigerians must shun sentiments, religious, cultural, ethnic, and tribal differences when it comes to issues of security and nation-building because security is everybody’s concern.

It asked Nigerians calling for the disintegration of Nigeria to desist adding that the unity of Nigeria is unnegotiable.

It however, charged the Federal government to deal decisively with the issue of insurgency and Insecurity confronting the nation.
