A military camp in Zazzaga community located in Munya local government area of Niger state was reportedly stormed on Wednesday by bandits.

This is coming barely three weeks after a similar one on a Security Joint Task Force base in Allawa and Basa in Shiroro local government area where five soldiers and a Mobile Policeman were killed.

Recall that more than 60 bandits carried out the latest attack around 4am.

According to sources, the bandits invaded the Zagzaga community in three groups.

It was learnt one group went to the Military Camp located at the Junior Secondary School while the second group laid ambush on the major road to the community.

The third group was said to have gone into the community to prevent any reinforcements from the vigilantes and youths.

The bandits were said to have engaged the soldiers in a gun battle for about two hours, which led to injuries on the part of the attackers

It was learnt no soldier was killed in the attack but a soldier identified as the RSM of the camp has been declared missing.

His whereabouts remain unknown as at the time of filing this report.

The bandits set one of the military vehicles ablaze when the soldiers retreated and burnt the food store in the camp.
