Senyatsi Lucas Phasa, a 52-year-old former lawyer who brutally killed his four children over suspicions that his wife was cheating on him, has bagged four life sentences by a court in South Africa.

Phasa was convicted for the murder of his four children, Katlego (9), Joyce, (7) Tshepo (5) and Adel (3) and was sentenced to four life imprisonment terms by the High Court, Limpopo division in Polokwane on Friday, June 4.

On the day of the murder, Phasa had posted a series of tirades on Facebook accusing his wfe of cheating on him, infecting him with HIV and warned that she would never see their children again.

Phasha admitted his crime to a neighbour and pointed out the location of their bodies. The police were notified and the bodies of all four children were located within a three kilometre radius of the village. Three of children where found with stab wounds. The youngest was found with open wounds.

MEC for Social Development Nkakareng Rakgoale, who was in court welcomed the outcome of the case, saying that it will serve as a deterrent to would-be abusers and murderers of children.

The court also heard that Phasha has previous convictions of murder, three counts of attempted murder and reckless driving.

MEC Rakgoale says people of Phasha’s character must be permanently removed from the society.
