The Kwara High Court of Justice, sitting in Ilorin on Friday ordered the All Progressives Congress APC and factional party chairman, Hon Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa to refrain from using the supposedly factional Secretariat for political purpose.

It would be recalled that the Minister of Information and Culture Alhaji Lai Mohammed had recently officially commissioned the factional Secretariat following the crisis rocking the party in the state.

The state headquarters of the party is located in the Tanke area; the minister’s faction recently unveiled its secretariat at GRA, Ilorin.

The Lai Mohammed-inspired faction is being challenged for illegal use of the facility located in GRA Ilorin.

The order was granted in response to the exparte application filed by the owners of the building at Yahya Madawaki Road in GRA Ilorin.

The order was granted in a suit No KWS/234/2021, filed by Abidemi Adisa for the family.

“It is hereby ordered that the defendants by themselves, agents, privies, or successors in title are hereby restrained in the interim from converting, renovating, or restructuring the claimant’s building which is situated at Yahaya Madawaki Road GRA Ilorin Kwara State covered by Certificate of Occupancy No KW. 3875 into a political party secretariat pending the hearing of the motion on notice filed synchronously,” according to the court paper signed by Senior Registrar Immam Zakariyyah Abolaji.

The court order means that the BOB faction of the APC no longer has a secretariat.

The development is coming shortly after the Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the party warned against any move by members or group to organise a parallel congress on Saturday.

The Secretary of the Caretaker Committee, Senator John Akpanudoedehe, in a two-page notice in Abuja to all members on Friday, said such individual or group risk being sanctioned.
