Two people, Akhayera Collins and Christian John, have been nabbed by the Rivers State Police Command for their alleged involvement in the manufacturing of fake drinks in Port Harcourt.

Operatives of Operation Puff Adder who made the arrest acted on “credible information” and stormed their hideout at Eligbolo road within Rumuokoro in Obio Akpor local government area of the state, where the fake drinks were manufactured.

The spokesman of the Rivers State Police Command, SP Nnamdi Omoni, while parading the suspects at the command Headquarters in PortHarcourt, disclosed the items recovered from the suspects to include “assorted fake wines, spirit and several alcoholic beverages” as well as “empty bottles waiting to be filled with the substance”.

SP Omoni said the suspects “have made useful confessions and will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”

“I order the empty bottles from Aba, and they send it down to me here, when they send it to me I refill it. For example that campari bottle I refill it with Kalahari”.

“For the Chelsea I mix it with ethanol”.

“When I finish, I take them to an oil mill to sell.

He, however, insisted that the drinks are “healthy” and not poisonous.

The suspects confessed that he has been in the business for about two years.
