Two petrol laden tankers in head-on collision in Kwara

Two petrol-laden tankers were involved in a head-on collision at the weekend at Kanbi-Oloru village on Jebba-Bode-Saadu highway in Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State.

It was gathered that the accident occurred on Saturday, at about 17:25hrs as a result of the careless overtaking by one of the drivers.

The Kwara Fire Service saved the two petrol tankers loaded with 33,000Litres, with registration No WSE163XA and FGF372ZS, from total destruction.

Spokesman of the service, Hassan Adekunle, who confirmed the incident in a a statement in Ilorin on Sunday said personnel of the fire service prevented the tankers from catching fire

Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade Olumuyiwa, advised drivers, transporters in particular, to exercise patience whenever they were on the road.
