Osun: Five escape death in Ilesa-Ipetu multiple accident

Five persons have escaped being crushed to death in multiple road accidents that occurred Saturday evening along the Ilesa-Ipetu road.

Two persons reportedly also sustained varying degrees of injury in the accident that happened at the Iwaraja Junction of the highway,

The Osun Sector of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) said the road crash involved a white coloured DAF trailer with registration number JJS660XA and a red coloured Toyota Corolla with registration number SGB616DP.

The accident was reportedly caused by a route violation.

The Osun FRSC Sector spokesperson, Agnes Ogungbemi also revealed that the injured persons, male and female adults were stabilised and rushed to Wesley Guild Hospital in Ilesa while the obstruction caused at the accident scene had been cleared by FRSC personnel.

Ogungbemi who charged road users to be wary of the time of the year also advised that all components of their vehicles must be in perfect condition.

This she said was because driving in near misty conditions may impair the visibility of whoever is behind the steering wheel.
