Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed gratitude to Russians who are protesting the ongoing war in Ukraine.

The President expressed his appreciation to Russians who “are not afraid to protest” and “tell the truth” about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Hundreds of Russians have been jailed by President Vladimir Putin’s regime for marching to the streets to demand an end to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

And in a Telegram video uploaded on Tuesday morning, Zelensky said, “I am grateful to those Russians who do not stop trying to convey the truth.”

He hailed the Russians for resisting what he described as disinformation and had decided to stand on the side of truth and tell real facts to their friends and loved ones.

Zelensky further pointed to Maria Ovsyannikova, a Russian Television, Russia Channel One employee, who interrupted a major broadcast by holding an anti-war sign in prime time on Monday.

“NO WAR. Stop the war. Do not believe propaganda, they tell you lies here,” the sign read.
