Bandits kill four, kidnap village head, housewives in Taraba

Bandits have killed four persons and abducted a village head at Kwatan Nanido and Maigemu villages in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State

According to SaharaReporters, the village head of Maigemu and three other persons, including two housewives were kidnapped and four persons were also killed.

The kidnapped victims were said to have been abducted on Tuesday, while four persons were murdered at Maigemu, Tinga and Kwamishina villages, all in the Gassol Local Government Area.

The bandits reportedly operated from a forest near River Benue and they have been terrorising villages located on both sides of the River Benue for weeks.

As further gathered, the bandits operated using motorcycles and forced fishermen and dry season farmers to abandon their businesses.

The state police spokesperson, DSP Usman Abdullahi, did not respond to telephone calls to confirm the incident.
