One person has been confirmed dead in a fatal accident involving a motorcycle operator and a trailer, following a strong wind that blew on Thursday in Gombe State.

The Public Relations Officer of the the Federal Road Safety Corps, Gombe State Command, Janet Kassa, who confirmed the accident described it as a sad occurrence.

Kassa revealed that the motorcycle, popularly known as Achaba, was conveying a passenger before it collided with a trailer around Rainbow roundabout at the state metropolis.

The FRSC spokesperson revealed that the deceased had been deposited at the Specialist Hospital morgue for proper identification before internment.

“I have confirmed the accident, three persons did not pass on, and one person died on the spot. It involved a trailer and a motorcycle rider and his passenger at the rainbow roundabout, the two survivors are receiving treatment as they sustained various degrees of injuries,” she said.

Kassa called on passengers to continue to abide by safety measures while cautioning that the sector would not condone reckless driving.
